Your review is spot on. I felt overwhelmed visually and otherwise by the film (did they leave anything on the cutting room floor?), but so stimulated by what was going on. I love your interpretation of what it all meant. Do you think it's Oscar worthy?

Thanks so much for your kind words. I do think it's Oscar-worthy. It tackles family connections and, most importantly, the way the past is always nestled within the present, in a splintered, fractured way I haven't seen a movie do before. Or at least not on this scale and with such pinpoint shooting and meticulous editing. And in the story's end, it comes down to a family sitting in a tax audit trying to figure out its future. What do we owe society? How much does society allow us to claim as our own, as inviolable? So, a Best Picture nom seems justified. Best Director for the Daniels. Also, Michelle Yeoh for Best Actress as well as Stephanie Hsu, Ke Huy Quan and Jamie Lee Curtis in supporting. Editing, by all means. I found it even more dazzling and moving the second time I saw it.
